Happy New Years!!!

Would it be ok with you if I took a second to reflect on and celebrate Gods goodness for a minute with you?  Yes?!  Thanks let’s do this 🎉

October 2nd seven of us met for a small Bible study at the Holloway house.  We had been studying James for months and we continued to break down this awesome lette and talk about its implications and applications for our life. I shared in my heart 3 things that I believed about Shores Church - the biggest being that this would be a faith community built on heart for the community and not hurt from the past.  Mudslingers or malcontents need not apply.

The following week 7 turned into a couple dozen where we quickly outgrew the Holloway house. The Young family

Opened up their home for the following week and when people from the neighborhood started walking in the door and people brought their own chairs in the back of their trucks, we realized woah, God is doing something here.

Whether we were meeting together in the Hicks basement, taking over the Hedio’s kitchen/dining room, or the Demmons office space, there has been a sweet attitude and spirit of “God what do you have for us and this community.”

We are so thankful that at the beginning of December we were accepted by the Wells Ogunquit Center at Moody leadership to start renting space. Where we were BYOC (bring your own chair) to church before we now had space for kids, 100+ padded chairs and even a sound system and tv!!! Are you kidding me?!?

Shores Church exists to KNOW JESUS and MAKE JESUS KNOWN.  Simple but we know the greatest truths are often the simplest to explain but will take a lifetime to figure out. We want to be a faith community where people find common ground, hear the Good News, find refreshment, encouragement, and connection in Jesus Christ and His Church.

We’ve had the opportunity to donate dozens of shoeboxes for Operation christmas child, give nearly 1,500 dollars in gift cards to the Wells Ogunquit School district for Christmas gifts and we have the chance to participate in the WOCAM days of warming in February. This is a part of our mission - not only knowing Jesus but making Him known.

Also, Shores Church has received FEIN from the IRS and is awaiting final paperwork from the State of Maine. We have selected 3 officers of the church including myself (Pastor Court) plus Bob Bordeaux (Treasurer) and Stephonne Young (Secretary) - these men represent their family’s well with integrity and faith before the Lord, and I believe will represent Shores to stay in compliance with state and federal laws for this coming year.

What’s next?! We’ve got group Bible studies to start, student ministry and camps, missionaries to support and trips to go on.  A community to serve and family/friends to share the Good News with.

Shores Church is thankful for the spaces and places we’ve been and looking forward to what God is going to do next.

Here’s to 2023.  Let’s know Jesus and make Jesus known.👊🙏❤️
